The relatively-unknown Sova assessment is a fundamental part of the TUI UK MPL Pilot Cadet Programme selection process.
Unlike traditional computerised pilot aptitude tests such as the Aon or COMPASS assessment, this type of assessment evaluates competencies which are not necessarily specific to fulfilling the role of a pilot and is more often used to evaluate candidates for organisations such as Unilever, Vodafone and Royal Bank of Scotland et al.
Evaluation of Logical reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Checking & Accuracy is combined in to a Blended Assessment, contains between 50-80 questions and typically requires 25-30 minutes to complete.
This assessment seeks to provide insight in to candidate ability by comparing them against their cohort and placing them within a Percentile Ranking System similar to that used within our software.
Like many other assessments, this is completed remotely at home and offers client customisation of those modules and weighting of questions to be undertaken by their candidates.

The Sova Pilot Assessment includes the following areas of questioning:
The Logical Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Sova pilot assessment evaluates candidate understanding of relationships between geometric elements, symbols and numbers.
These types of questions task the candidate with decoding complex visual patterns and spatial relationships portrayed to identify and then apply rules which govern the progression of sequences or appearance of new elements.
Use our Abstract activity in both Normal Mode and Training Mode (shown in the screenshot) to benefit from realistic emulations of the above styles of questioning.
Also consider using our Sets and Match activities in the same modes to further improve understanding of logical, spatial and abstract reasoning.
The Numerical Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Sova pilot assessment requires interrogation of data provided and application of basic mathematics to reach a conclusion.
These types of questions are provided with Multiple-Choice Answers and presented as a combination of tables, charts or graphs.

The Verbal Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Sova pilot assessment evaluates candidate ability to understand and analyse the information provided in pieces of text, as well as the ability to draw relevant and accurate conclusions.
In these questions, a passage of text is presented on screen and the candidate is required to choose an answer of True, False or Cannot Say dependent on whether the accompanying statement reflects that information shown.

These types of questions task the candidate with examining a wide variety of data presented in different formats to identify errors, or select data which meets certain criteria.
