Creation of 'Dispatch' Activity
Client Request

The Dispatch for Aspiring Pilots activity, which provides mathematical questioning influenced by real-world aviation scenarios and aids preparation for the first stage of the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy as well the latter stage of the TUI UK MPL Cadet Scheme, is created and incorporates the following features:

  • Questioning on a broad collection of topics, ranging from aircraft performance, fuel calculations and meteorological mathematics, to descent and climb planning, weight and balance, as well as speed, distance and time.
  • Difficulty equivalent to mathematical knowledge at GCSE Higher Level or above, representing ideal preparation for aspiring pilots and cadet scheme selection processes.
  • 200+ Questions, sorted in to 8 topics, and accompanied by comprehensive Explanations, accessible during Training Mode or provided in Feedback when using Normal Mode.
  • A Customisation Mode which permits adjustment of activity duration, question quantity and those topics presented to the candidate.
  • Full iPad compatibility using on-screen buttons.

Introduction of Search Function
Client Request

A Search Function is introduced to the Activity sections of our software, enabling candidates to rapidly search for activities by aptitude test, airline, flying school, cadet or scheme or skill.

This function compliments the existing structured sections of our software, ensuring that candidates preparing for a particular assessment may expeditiously find the resources they need to fly past the competition.

Creation of 'Situational Judgement' Activity
Client Request

The Situational Judgement activity, which aids preparation for the first stage of the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy, is created and incorporates the following features:

  • Questioning incorporating an extensive collection of different aviation workplace scenarios, helping candidates to familiarise themselves with this style of testing and to improve decision-making, judgement and understanding of appropriate responses.
  • Topics incorporate assessment of decision-making, professional judgment, safety priorities, communication skills, crew resource management, adherence to procedures, security awareness and customer service.
  • 200+ Questions are accompanied by comprehensive Explanations, accessible during Training Mode or provided in Feedback when using Normal Mode.

Improvements to the 'PFD' Activity
Client Request

The PFD activity, which provides realistic simulation of both the Advanced COMPASS™ Test and the latter stage of the British Airways Speedbird Pilot Academy assessment, undergoes substantial modification to incorporate the following improvements:

  • Improved Flight Mechanics, including a Realism Toggle to better simulate the operation of a modern jet aircraft.
  • Improved Accuracy Logging and use of Standardised Results accompanied by Chart Breakdown.
  • Improved Intensity Adjustment to permit graduated preparation and use of Easy, Normal and Hard settings.
  • Re-worked Training Mode with improved user interface and greater accessibility on a variety of devices.
  • Re-worked Flight Director function to provide automated guidance in pitch and bank.
  • Re-worked Controller Settings to provide full compatibility with the Logitech X52/X56 Flight Control System as well as other joystick, rudder pedal and throttle controller combinations.
  • Introduction of a 3D External View function to display a 3D-rendered representation of a view from the cockpit window, aiding in spatial awareness and familiarity with aircraft control.
  • Introduction of a North-Orientated Plan View of the aircraft flightpath, viewed from an isometric perspective and shown with a target heading line to aid spatial awareness.
  • Introduction of Throttle Gauges to improve situational awareness and understand delay in engine response to throttle changes.

Support added for Predictive Index (PI)
Client Request

A new section containing those activities which provide support for the Predictive Index (PI), a blended assessment typically employed by Vueling as part of their selection process, is added to our software to enable preparation for this test type.

In particular, the various question types of this assessment are broken down in to different activities, permitting focused preparation by candidates.

These activities include the following features:

  • A broad range of Question Types that effectively and realistically emulate the styles of questioning posed in the real assessment.
  • Comprehensive and extensive Explanations are provided for each question,
  • Additional functionality such as Training Mode and Customisation Mode to further preparation.
  • Compatibility across all devices and screen sizes to permit access by all candidates.

Bug Fixes to 'Manoeuvre' Activity
Client Request

A series of bug fixes and improvements are applied to the 'Manoeuvre' activity, which provides realistic preparation prior to computerised assessments undertaken at organisations such as FTE Jerez.

In particular, improvements are made to the rendering and sizing of those movable objects displayed on screen to ensure greater compatibility with a broader range of devices.

Improvements to Server
Client Request

Our server and database management are improved to accommodate an increase in pilot candidates using our software to prepare for pilot assessments, ensuring faster delivery to web browsers.

  • Caching is introduced server-side to permit faster delivery of the software to web browsers.
  • Usage of a Content Delivery Network is increased to support the growing variety of activities offered by the software.
  • Expansion Plans for hardware are established to accommodate the increasing number of clients and maintain software performance.

The Patterns activity, which aids preparation for the Sova Assessment most commonly found within the TUI UK Cadet Pilot Programme selection process, is created and incorporates the following features:

  • Questioning incorporating an extensive collection of differing types of questioning, helping to exercise candidate understanding of grid-based inductive reasoning, and in particular, the ability to decode positioning and transformative relationships.

Improvements to Word Problems Activity
Client Request

A further 120 questions on Speed, Distance & Time, The Rule of Three and Percentages are added to the Word Problems activity, helping to prepare candidates for assessment at FTE Jerez and aiding preparation for undertaking the DLR, as well as Vienna Test System assessments.

  • Questions are modelled on real-world aviation scenarios and are representative of those questions posed in testing found in the FTE Jerez, DLR and Vienna Test System assessments.
  • All questions are accompanied by Explanations, accessible during Training Mode or provided in Feedback when using Normal Mode.

Introduction of 'Crew Room' Forum

A collaborative forum, appropriately named the Crew Room, is introduced, providing a space for pilot candidates at all stages of their careers to connect, support and motive each other.

This forum is provided to new and existing clients at no cost, and is offered with life-time access, permitting a client to continue engaging with other candidates after their subscription has elapsed.

The Crew Room includes the following features:

  • Dedicated sections for each Airline, Flying School and Cadet Scheme assessment.
  • Unique and automated aviation-themed username generation to maintain privacy.
  • Offered on a life-time access basis, and moderated hourly by staff.
  • Compatibility across all devices and screen sizes to permit access by all candidates.

Improvements to 'Numbers' for TestAir360
Client Request

The Numbers activity, which emulates a test module found within the TestAir360 and DLR assessments is modified to provide greater realism.

  • An additional mode, 'Normal', is introduced to better mimic the testing included in TestAir360 assessments.
  • The existing functionality, which is suitable for preparation prior to DLR assessments, is now contained within a mode called 'Reverse'.

Introduction of Simulator for 'Rotating Cubes'
Client Request

The Rotating Cubes activity, which emulates a test module found within the TestAir360 and DLR assessments is joined by a Rotating Cubes Simulator that displays a cube in 3D space and enables manipulation by the user.

This simulator may be used to manipulate the cube on computer, tablet and smartphone, and may also demonstrate the rotations applied to a cube from an audio statement presented within the Rotating Cubes activity, thus permitting enhanced user preparation for this particular test module.

  • Turbulence Setting which may be enabled or disabled by axis to increase or decrease difficulty.
  • Realism Setting to further enhance realistic flight dynamics of the simulated aircraft.
  • Axis Selection to enable further fine-tuning of connected USB Controllers.

Improvements to 'Capacity' for British Airways Assessments
Client Request

The Capacity activity, which provides realistic simulation of the British Airways EAGLE Test is modified to incorporate the following improvements:

  • Inclusion of TRK Miles (Track Miles) Calculations during activity duration.
  • Realistic and Random Modes to enable further preparation.
  • Expansion of activity timings, allowing for between 5 and 30 minutes of interaction.
  • Introduction of Maths for Capacity standalone activity, enabling practice of TRK Miles and ROC/ROD questioning.
