The lesser-used Predictive™ Index (PI) Cognitive Assessment forms part of the Vueling selection process.
Unlike traditional computerised pilot aptitude tests such as the Aon or COMPASS assessment, this type of assessment evaluates competencies which are not necessarily specific to fulfilling the role of a pilot and is more often used to evaluate candidates for organisations such as DocuSign, Subway and Nissan et al.
Evaluation of Abstract Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning is combined in to a Blended Assessment, contains 50 questions and must be completed within 12 minutes.
This assessment seeks to provide insight in to how quickly an individual can be expected to acquire new knowledge, and claims to determine which candidates are best suited for the role by comparing them against criteria (i.e. Norm-Referencing) established by that organisation administering the assessment.
Like many other assessments, this is completed remotely at home and offers client customisation of assessment criteria.
For better understanding, we've provided separate descriptions for each of the various components of the Predictive Index™ Cognitive Assessment within this Knowledgebase Article.
As of 11th February 2025, the information provided below is being improved and refined to provide greater detail to applicants of this assessment type.
The Predictive Index™ (PI) Cognitive Assessment includes the following areas of questioning:

The Abstract Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Predictive Index™ cognitive assessment evaluates candidate understanding of relationships between geometric elements, symbols and numbers.
These types of questions task the candidate with decoding complex visual patterns and spatial relationships portrayed to identify and then apply rules which govern the progression of sequences or appearance of new elements.
Use our Abstract activity in both Normal Mode and Training Mode (shown in the screenshot) to benefit from realistic emulations of the above styles of questioning.
Also use our Sets and Match activities in the same modes to further improve understanding of logical, spatial and abstract reasoning.

The Numerical Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Predictive Index™ cognitive assessment requires interrogation of data provided and application of basic mathematics to reach a conclusion.
These types of questions are provided with Multiple-Choice Answers and include questions on solving math problems, working with percentages, ratios, fractions, number sequences, and data interpretation
Use our Numerical Reasoning A-Series activities in both Normal Mode and Training Mode (shown in the screenshot) to benefit from realistic emulations of the above styles of questioning.
Additionally, engage with our Number Series and Word Problems activities to continue familiarising yourself with this area of assessment.
Also use our Mathematics activity in the same modes to supplement your preparation.

The Verbal Reasoning questioning incorporated into the Predictive Index™ cognitive assessment evaluates candidate comprehension and usage of the English language, as well as the ability to understand and analyse the information provided in pieces of text.
These types of questions are provided with Multiple-Choice Answers and include questions on analogies, syllogisms, antonyms and synonyms, as well as questioning that requires interpretation and analysis of text.
Use our Analogies, Syllogisms, and Synonyms activities in both Normal Mode and Training Mode to benefit from realistic emulations of the above styles of questioning.
Also use our other English Language activities to further improve understanding and comprehension of the English language.
Additionally, engage with our Verbal Reasoning A-Series activities to continue familiarising yourself with this area of assessment.
